IEIIT Bologna - About

The Bologna unit of IEIIT-CNR is focused on ICT and avails itself of a well-equipped laboratory. Moreover, the group has always established several cooperations with small and medium-sized companies in the telecommunications field.
Research activity has always been carried out in the framework of many national and international groups and projects; as for fundings, they amount to 1.7 millions of euros in the last five years.
The main research and application areas of the group are Wireless technologies for Infomobility Services, Communication technologies for ITS, Multimedia Communications, Mobile Communication toward 4G, Digital Video over Wireless, FPGA and DSP in Communications, Short-Range Communications and Sensor Networks, Heterogeneous Wireless Networks, Digital Transmission Theory, Indoor localization techniques, Remote access to laboratory equipment and E/m-Learning.
Further Issues are Radio Resource Management, Multiple Antenna Systems, Cross Layer Design, Digital Signal Processing, Modulation and Coding, Digital Transmission Theory and Multiple Access Control.
All such expertise led to several publications in International Journals and Conference proceedings, and to leading and coordination roles in many projects, such as PEGASUS, TRIP, WWLAN and SACRA.
