People - Daniele Pianu

Daniele Pianu received a Master Degree In Computer Science from the Politecnico of Turin. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a software programmer, developing strong skills in the C programming language and fast prototyping techniques using the Python programming language. His main working activity consisted in building tools for automatic integration of software components written in C/C++ inside the Python environment. During his studies, his interests ranged in the field of computer graphics and computer vision, with the opportunity of attending advanced courses in these topics during and exchange program at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His studies also focused on GPGPU techniques, with applications to computer security and machine learning. In May 2013 he won a research fellowship at the IEIIT. His current research activity is aimed to develop model-based and appearance-based techniques for real-time hand-pose estimation using low-cost sensors for tele-rehabilitation applications.
