People - Cavo Marta

Marta Cavo was born in Genoa in 1989. After receiving a classical education at high school G. Mazzini, in 2014 she graduated in Bioengineering (curriculum: Biomechanics and Biomaterials) at the University of Genoa, discussing a thesis in the field of tissue engineering entitled: “Modeling and realization of 3D porous scaffolds for bone applications by 3D printing technology”, under the supervision of Eng. Silvia Scaglione (CNR-IEIIT). From 2014 she is PhD student in Bioengineering at the University of Genoa and from January 2015 she is Research associate at the IEIIT Institute of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy.
Her research activities are related to the design and realization of scaffolds for tissue engineering applications, with particular attention to the development of 3D in vitro cancer models by the use of tissue engineering approaches (Cancer Tissue Engineering). She’s member of the FORUM in Bone and Mineral Research (national organization).
