People - Roberto Nerino

Roberto Nerino received the degree in Electronic Engineering and the PhD degree in Metrology from the Politecnico di Torino in 1982 and 1994, respectively. From 1984 to 1985 he worked as system engineer at the aerospace company Alenia, and from 1985 to 1989 as teacher of Electronics in the public secondary school. From 1989 to 2007 he was a researcher of the INRIM (Istituto Nazionale di Ricerche in Metrologia ). In 2007 he joined the IEIIT (Istituto di Elettronica e di Ingegneria dell'Informazione e delle Telecomunicazioni) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). He has been coordinator of several research projects funded by Industries and Research Institutions and promoter of collaborations with European Universities. He is co-author of 3 patents and 50 papers in journals and conference proceedings. His research activity is focused on signal processing and computer vision techniques for three-dimensional measurements and modeling, with applications to cultural heritage and to industry. Recently he has started research activities concerning the integration of 2D/3D visual information with biomedical signals from body sensor networks in healthcare monitoring and rehabilitation applications.
