IEIIT Milano - About
IEIIT (Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering) is a research structure of CNR, the Italian National Council of Research, established on 12 October 2001.
The IEIIT unit
of Milano is located at
Dipartimento di Elettronica e
Informazione (DEI)
inside the campus of Politecnico
di Milano.
IEIIT researchers
carry out their activities in tight cooperation
with DEI department.

Advanced studies and research activities are delivered in the areas of communication systems, applied electromagnetics, computer science and control system engineering and automation.
Five research groups are currently active at the IEIIT site of Milano:
· Communication Systems and Information Theory
· Applied Electromagnetics
· Networks and Protocols for Process Automation and Control
· Formal Methods and Languages
· Decision Support Systems
IEIIT researchers collaborate with DEI department in the framework of scientific programmes and projects supported by national and international academic and research institutions, and small to large enterprises. They are also involved in teaching courses and seminars to undergraduate/graduate students and in tutoring for student theses.

The experimental research on radio systems is carried out at the Spino d’Adda Station, located at about 30 km from Milano, equipped with radio stations for propagation and communication studies, a meteorological radar and radiometers.
Established in 2006, Wisytech (Wireless Systems Technology) is a spin-off of Politecnico di Milano and CNR with the mission to transfer into innovative products the know-how of the research labs of Politecnico di Milano and CNR on next generation wireless systems, and of Alfautomazione S.p.A., a leading company on system integration and manufacturing testing/validation.
