IEIIT Torino - About
IEIIT (Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering) is a research structure of CNR, the Italian National Council of Research, established on 12 October 2001.
The IEIIT territorial site of Torino is located inside the campus of Politecnico di Torino.
IEIIT carries out advanced scientific and technological researches in the areas of computer and systems engineering, telecommunications and electronics in cooperation with several national and international research institutions and academia.
Five research gropus are currently working at the IEIIT site of Torino:
- Computer and System Engineering
- Telecommunications
- Image Technologies
- Artificial Vision
- Applied Electromagnetics
Advanced researches at IEIIT are based on experience and know-how developed by its staff in more that 20 years of scientific activity
carried out in the ICT domain.
Most researches are performed in the framework of scientific programmes and projects supported by national and international academic institutions, public and private organizations and medium and large enterprises, and involve the cooperation of a significant number of professors and researchers working with universities where the Institute sites are located.
IEIIT reserchers are also deeply involved in teaching advanced courses and seminars to undergraduate/graduate students and professionals on subjects falling in the Institute areas of expertise. They are also responsible for transferring results and technological solutions to SMEs and companies interested in IEIIT scientific activities.
