Vittorio Rampa joined the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) as a Researcher in 1986. During 1999-2014, he was Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) where he taught courses on software defined radios, and radio communication/navigation systems. In 2001, he became Senior Researcher at IEIIT-CNR. In 2006, he co-founded Wisytech Srl, a CNR-POLIMI spin-off, where served as CTO till 2014. Since 2018, he is member of the Steering Committee GTTS-4 of the National Cluster Fabbrica Intelligente.
His research interests include: signal processing algorithms and architectures for wireless communications; machine/deep learning tools for sensing applications; wireless sensor networks for IoT applications; radio vision techniques for detection and localization of people and objects, and for activity/intention recognition of people; development of electromagnetic body models for radio passive sensing; federated learning methods and tools for cooperative and green applications; virtual instrumentation techniques for test and verification of wireless systems.
