Fabio Paonessa holds a B.Sc. (2008) and M.Sc. (2010) in Biomedical Engineering and a Ph.D. (2017) in Electronics Engineering, all from the Polytechnic of Turin, where he worked as a Research Assistant (2011–2012) developing HIFU systems for sonodynamic therapy. Since 2013, he has been with the Applied Electromagnetics Group at CNR-IEIIT. His research focuses on UAV-based characterization of antenna arrays, polarimeters, and radar systems, and the design of microwave passive components.
