Best Paper Award at I3M

Lucanos Strambini and Luca Tavanti received the Best Paper Award at the International Multidisciplinary Modelling & Simulation Multiconference

The article "Environmental monitoring combining fixed stations and mobile units for Urban Digital Twins: first field implementations and analysis", realised by our researchers Lucanos Strambini and Luca Tavanti in collaboration with Elvezia Maria Cepolina and Pardis Ahmadi of the University of Genoa, received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Harbour, Maritime & Multimodal Logistics Modelling and Simulation (HMS), part of the International Multidisciplinary Modeling & Simulation Multiconference (I3M) [https://www.msc-les.org/i3m2025/].

In this work, an environmental monitoring approach was proposed that integrates fixed sensors and mobile robots aimed at increasing the spatial coverage and quality of the measurements to be used in the creation of urban digital twins. An initial analysis was performed on the data collected at the San Martino Hospital in Genoa as part of the RAISE@Spoke1 project and of the activities of the Interdepartmental Centre for City Science (CISC) of the National Research Council (CNR).
