The 21st IEEE International Conference on Factory Communication Systems (WFCS 2025) will take place in Rostock for the first time from June 10 to 13, 2025 (website:https://wfcs25.uni-rostock.de/).
The WFCS conference focuses on all forms of communication solutions to support automation in factories and industry, with particular attention paid to recent developments, new trends, research findings, and future perspectives. As the only IEEE conference dedicated exclusively to communication for industrial automation systems, WFCS provides a central forum for researchers, developers, and practitioners to present and discuss the latest advances in this field.
The conference is organized by the Institute of Applied Microelectronics and Computer Science (IMD) at the University of Rostock in cooperation with the Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering CNR-IEIIT (Italy), under the leadership of Dr. Frank Golatowski and Dr. Stefano Scanzio as General Chairs.
WFCS is known for presenting research results in the field of communication solutions for industrial automation systems, covering all aspects of wireless and wired networks, real-time data exchange, security, AI, and machine learning for Industry 4.0, as well as new technologies such as 5G/6G, Wi-Fi 7/8, and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN).
In addition to the extensive scientific program, which spans four days, a special focus will be placed on linking science and industry. Highlights of the event include two high-profile keynotes, including a presentation by BMW, as well as an industry forum, featuring representatives from renowned companies such as Siemens, Intel, NXP, and BMW.
