This workshop, organized yearly by European academic and industrial research centers in the sector, is in its 13th edition. It aims to bring together all those working in this sector, the VCSELs, microscopic lasers that now pervade everyone's life, from automotive applications to those in smartphones. The format is that of an informal meeting place, with ample space for discussion. It returns to Turin, where it was already held in 2010. It is the first time that the VCSEL day occurs twice in the same place.
