TECHIE

A control and network-based approach for fostering the adoption of new technologies in the ecological transition

Services and technologies with significant, beneficial societal and/or ecological impacts often encounter skepticism or even hostility from their prospective users. Indeed, people are often reluctant to change their behaviour and interaction patterns, even if it is for their own long-term benefit. Accordingly, policies fostering the adoption of technological innovations into the society are needed, accounting for the intertwining between individual entities, their connection and the effect of past policies.

By putting individuals at the centre of policy design, TECHIE’s visionary goal is to lay the foundations for a deep understanding of socio-technological systems, providing the methodological and theoretical ground for the design of human-centric, control-enabled policies to foster the diffusion of new technologies, while preserving fairness among individuals.
