Gaya Cocca, MSc graduate in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, has been awarded the Best Master Theseis Award 2025 by the IEEE CSS Italy Chapter for her thesis “Dynamics of popularity in social media: The Roles of Network Effects and Recommendation Systems”, carried out under the supervision of Chiara Ravazzi (CNR-IEIIT), Paolo Frasca (CNRS Grenoble), and Fabrizio Dabbene (IEIIT-CNR).
The award recognizes outstanding Master’s theses in Systems and Control defended at Italian universities in 2024–2025. Gaya’s thesis was selected for its scientific quality and innovative contribution, and was presented in the dedicated award session during Automatica.it 2025 in Perugia.
The IEEE CSS Italy Chapter’s Best Master Theses Award celebrates the excellence of young researchers in the Systems and Control community and promotes their contributions to the advancement of control theory and applications.
This recognition highlights the strong collaboration between academia and research institutions such as CNR-IEIIT, CNRS, and Politecnico di Torino, fostering innovation and excellence in the next generation of control scientists and engineers.
