Gianluca Cena holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Politecnico di Torino, 1996). Since 2005 he has been a Director of Research. His research interests include industrial and real-time communication systems. He received the Best Paper Award of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics in 2017 and of IEEE WFCS in 2004, 2010, 2017, 2019, and 2020. He served as Program Co-Chairman of IEEE WFCS in 2006 and 2008 and as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics since 2009.
