Salvatore Maresca received the M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2006 and 2010, respectively. In July 2010, he joined the NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), La Spezia, Italy. In 2016, he joined the CNIT, Pisa. Since January 2018, he has been a Senior Researcher with the TeCIP Institute, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa.

Since December 2021 he is with the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, at the Institute of Electronics, Information Engineering and Telecommunications (IEIIT), Pisa. He has authored or coauthored more than fifty scientific and technical publications and reports, and two book chapters. His research interests include statistical signal processing of radar data, with a special focus on sea clutter analysis, target detection and tracking strategies, data and information fusion in MIMO radars, as well as system modelling and simulation.
